The latest revision of part of a chapter from my next book. Im sending this back to my editor. Let me know what you think: On Friday, while picking up a patient at a hospital, I ran into a friend in the emergency department hallway. Kelly is the kind of nurse that paramedics naturally like: a competent and skilled woman with a cheerful disposition and a wicked sense of humor. Ive known her for years and Ive always enjoyed her company. When she was diagnosed with cancer, I got to know her a little better. She went through the usual regimen of chemo and radiation with a smile, which is not easy to do. Cancer treatment can be brutal. She’s a survivor and a living testimony to the perseverance of the human soul. We were talking in the ER hallway, when she asked what I was up to. I shared some of the healing miracles I’d seen. She told me she has plantar fasciitis in both feet and lives with constant pain. She asked if I would pray for her feet to be healed. I escorted her to a darkened hallway out of the main traffic area near the x-ray department, so we wouldnt draw attention. I knelt down on the floor and placed my hands on her feet and quietly began to speak. “In the name of Jesus, I command these feet to be healed. Spirit of pain I command you to leave. Inflammation leave right now, in Jesus’ name! Well that should do it. How do you feel?” “Are you kidding me? My feet don’t hurt at all. How did you do that?” “I cheated. It was God… and He loves you very much.” I gave her some tips on how to keep her healing. “Look – here’s the deal, Kelly. The pain is gone right now but it may come back. If it returns, just do what I did to get you healed. Command the pain to leave in the name of Jesus.” I had to see a patient, so she gave me a hug and we went back to work. The next day I was back at the same hospital. I asked a nurse if Kelly was around. “She’s not here today, she’s on call. Can I leave a message for her?” I prayed for her feet to be healed yesterday. She had plantar fasciitis. She was healed and I wanted to see how her feet were doing. What did you say she was healed of? Uh, plantar fasciitis, why? “Will you pray for me, too? I have plantar fasciitis in both feet.” Now what do you suppose the odds are that I would find two nurses in a row with plantar fasciitis? I asked how bad the pain was and how long she’d had it, then knelt down on the floor and placed my hands on her feet. She said in a surprised tone, “Are you going to pray for me right now? “Do you want to be healed right now?” “Well I guess so. I just thought maybe you’d go home and pray for me.” Is there any reason why we can’t get you healed now?” I didnt wait for a reply. “I command these feet to be healed in Jesus name. I command plantar fasciitis to leave. I command the spirit of pain to leave right now and don’t come back. Inflammation get out now, in Jesus name! She got out of her chair and began jumping up and down. “I can’t believe it, I can’t believe it, this is a miracle!!” “You just got healed by a Jewish carpenter who died 2000 years ago.” She was overwhelmed with gratitude. Tears of joy streamed down her face. We talked about God’s love for her and I gave her a short lesson on how to keep her healing.
