The more I read about Ferguson, MO the worse I feel. It appears now that an 18 year old kid was killed during a confrontation with police shortly after stealing cigars from a convenience store. The story has become about a town seeking answers and an overzealous police force. The reactions from Americans at large has been even more disturbing. I remember not too long ago when a rancher was stealing directly from the government and when law enforcement tried to step in it turned into an armed showdown. Plenty of folks on my own feed were defending that ranchers right to steal and encouraging the use of force against their own government but at the end of that tense time not a single human life was lost. Here we sit with one young man dead. Good, bad, or otherwise, we will never know because his story is over. I dont know where Im going with this. I just wish we could live without so much fear. Fear of our neighbors, fear of excessive police, fear of a terrorist attack. We are all in this life together and we need to start acting like it.
