The path of a prophet is one that is very controversial,hard,higher prices to pay, rejection,humiliations,etcThe enemy sees a prophet coming from a mile. From the moment one is born,he puts a target on their backs.God is so gracious though and just like He snatched Jesus from herod,moses from pharaoh,He reaches in to save prophets time and again. There are times the prophet feels much like john the baptist,stuck in the wilderness and misunderstood but the time does come to be shown to the world.The tough experiences in life do not get the prophet down but shape him for the call. christianity is prophetic through and through.When the prophets are silent and the word is in short supply,the church withers and dies.If there are prophets today,their hands are tied and their mouths gagged by the clumsy democratic processes of church institutions.prophecy is seldom heard within the establishment.prophecy comes by the spirit of God not by consensus or debate. prophets are called by God ,they are not self-appointed,God chooses who shall be a prophet ,just as He appoints apostles,teachers,pastor etc.No one can appoint himself to be a prophet of God.In the story of jeremiah,we discover how God appointed him as one of his prophets. many people carry around business cards that list their titles as PROPHET OF GOD .Huge conferences are held and many books are written to instruct people on how to become a prophet.is it that easy?does a person become a prophet simply because he attends a conference or two,reads some books and orders a stock of business cards?of course not.yet people decide they can become prophets of God just like that. For our society to be renewed,it is necessary for the church ,and by that i mean individual christians together,to become a prophetic voice to our land.we must remember the price of being a prophet.If people were given a choice of straightening a wall or kill a prophet ,they will kill a prophet instead of straightening the wall.prophets are hard people to keep around because there is no compromise with a true prophet.you are saved or not,you are annointed or not,you are chosen or not,you have a gift or you dont have,there is no shade of grey-just black and white,you are hot or cold, lukewarm not acceptable.Thats why prophetic churches are avoided by all means because black is black and white is white.
