The pencil sketch is my subject for today. See the watercolour. I rarely do prelim sketches but this historic house just up the road a few doors away, is a very wide house, so wide to be a bit uninteresting. I thought a section with trees behind might be better. 2 years ago this house has a row of huge pine trees screening it. New owners cut down every tree and repainted. The cut trees are stacked in the area below the verandah. On the left is a small sketch I did once when we used to stay at Seashells, Broome. I found it today and thought is was worth an outing. Finally the one on the right is a very quick sketch of Cable Beach Broome. The point? To try and capture the essence of what I was looking at by using dots and blobs and stuff.
