The rounding doctor came in this morning to find that after 10 hours off oxygen, Steven was once again on it, because it had dropped this morning. The doctor said that, with oxygen, Steven wouldnt be discharged, and able to go to the duplex we have rented, before Christmas. Steven was disheartened, because he wanted it so badly for the kids, and asked the doctor if he was able to get some of the fluid off, and walk, and get his oxygen up, if he would reconsider. He said no promises and walked out of the room. This has lit a fire under Steven and has (finally) brought back his stubborn, determined attitude. I left his room to go to another floor to donate platelets and returned to find him, off oxygen, making laps. 22 laps, to be precise. (16 laps is a mile.) I think he is hoping to give the doctor a run for his money, and I am glad. Ive missed this part of him and lately he just hasnt acted, or felt, like himself. Even if we arent out for Christmas, it will be a good one because I can see the Old Steven fighting his way back.
