The selctmen budget is 33,212.00 The town manager budget is 621,399.00 Each department has a department head Every year they get raises The budget cuts made to it ever where but payroll. The insurance includes paid deductibles and paid co-pay They will tell you there was a reduction in the insurance this year and that sounds all good but how high is it going up next year? The side walks do not have a plow. The town can not provide safe routes for children to walk to school. So we bus children to school which cost money. The IT department is a one man show and all the cost saving projects rely on how soon he can get to them. The fire department has been asking for the big truck claiming the are not equipped if there is a fire at any of the apartment buildings or any of the big box stores Most departments are asking for vehicles stating the ones they have are old and beyond repair. All of the buildings are in need of repairs that continue to be put on the back burner. But the selctmen are not raising the budget for the next two years but ask for a 72% raise for themselves a raise for the town manager and we now have a deputy town manger. I think somewhere along the line a bottom line budget got mistaken with a bottomless pocket.
