The third round of The Dogwood Invitational concluded with a low score of 63, 9-under-par, by Trey Rule, the 2014 Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year from Mercer University. Anders Albertson, a junior at Georgia Tech, tied with Billy Kennerly, a junior at Clemson University, for second place with a 64, 8-under-par. Zach Seabolt from Winthrop University came in third with a 65, 7-under-par. With the top three players tight on the heels of Rule, players including Jimmy Beck, Travis Smyth and Davin White, only five-seven shots off the lead, the intense competition that we are accustomed to at The Dogwood is heating up to be an intense shootout. The final round is setting up to be an instant classic in tournament history. Tournament play will conclude tomorrow Saturday, June 28th at 8 a.m. at Druid Hills Golf Club. A press conference will follow in the Grand Ballroom at Druid Hills immediately after the final round, between 2-2:30 p.m., depending on completion of play.
