The time has finally come!! No more sitting around watching daytime tv, eating bon bons and keeping my feet in the air! Im heading back to work full time on Tuesday. I never thought Id say this but I can hardly wait!! (Ask me Wednesday how I feel and the response will likely be a bit different!) On Wednesday, I am scheduled to have cast #5 removed and xrays taken of my foot. If Dr. Ngan is happy with the xray results, I will graduate to a walking boot (similar/same to the AirCast I sported for 12 weeks prior to surgery) and can start physical therapy to learn to walk again. Im still walking with a walker and using a knee scooter for long hauls but its coming along! Please keep your fingers, toes and eyes crossed for good news on Wednesday!! I cant wait to get this black beauty removed. Im exceptionally grateful to all of my friends, family, neighbors who have sent cards, well wishes, brought food/goodies, sat with me, called me, emailed and facebooked me, picked me up for lunch, washed/colored my hair, etc. You have all played a HUGE part in my recovery - especially my mental recovery! I am ever so thankful for my very sweet and patient husband who has been my absolutely rock and has never complained (at least to me!) about taking care of me, the house and our boys. Hes been amazingly supportive and I have no idea how I would have made it through these last 11 weeks (not to mention the 12 weeks prior in the AirCast) without him. His Driving Miss Lazy job doesnt end next week - he will still be my driver for the next few months until Ive been cleared to drive with this new crazy right foot. I spent yesterday with two of my favorite people, my momma Marilou Johnson and my amazing friend Sheri Marzolf visiting her Bainbridge farm, Rustica and having lunch and huge ice cream cones in Winslow. It was the perfect way to end my leave of absence! Now lets get back to work!!
