There has been a lot of talk about racism and prejudiced as of late. A journalist, who I respect tremendously and happens to be African American, named Steven A. Smith was recently chastised by the Black community for agreeing with what Mark Cuban had to say about prejudice that many of us might have. I couldnt agree more, with both of them. Heres why. I share a similar American dream with Mr. Smith. I grew up with very little, only to make it and succeed through hard work, pounding pavement, paying my dues, education and dedication, regardless of my background and supposed minority status. If you keep believing that you ARE worth less than your white or black counterparts, then you will only manifest just that. If you buy into stereotypes and believe you have to be a certain way, because of the color of your skin or your background, then you will only continue to sell yourself short. But, if you believe you are equal to your counterparts, you will give yourself the same drive and have the same opportunities as the next person.
