There is a general contempt for those of us who are dubbed, “New Atheists” and “Anti-Theists.” Many feel that all we do is provoke and attack religion and tradition for the sake of it, but what is our role, really? Those of us, who study religions and their profane histories so that we might undermine them, are performing a service to humanity. We are the ones charged with beating back the dead bushes and thorny thickets of religion and traditional beliefs, so that great minds can take us forward, unshackled by the primitive and regressive emotional constraints placed on free thought and science, constraints comprised of the vain and outdated writings of our more arcane ancestors. It is the job of the new, militant and anti-theistic atheist, to immunize our species against the toxic immorality of ancient religions. We are the destroyers who have come to tear down the old in order for great minds to build a new.
