There is a huge difference between modernization and westernization.... A lot of people think that modernization cannot be except through westernization. they think they have to westernize themselves, their families, countries, societies or may be even their religions in order to modernize them. I have news for these people: you dont have to westernize in order to modernize. you can actually modernize without westernization. some people also think that Islam hinders modernization and they have to weaken Islam in order to strengthen modernization. I have news also for those people. Islam does not hinder modernization it encourages modernization. but if you think that modernization is westernization and westernization is modernization and you are confused between those you will eventually believe that Islam hinders modernization/westernization. I have also news for these people: Islam strengthens, encourages, adopts and defends modernization. actually Islam and modernization can go hand in hand and strengthen each other beyond you imagination. as for people who insist that there must be westernization so that there would modernization, I am so sorry to tell them a lot of countries, societies, cultures, people, and may be even religions were and are very much successful in westernization and eventually failed to modernize themselves and remained ignorant, deteriorated, and underdeveloped even though they were westernized to the greatest extent anyone can imagine. the question is do we need modernization or westernization? and what if modernization led to Islamisation, would you reject both and and adopt westernization which repeatedly, over and over again failed to solve our problem. I made my choice. I will adopt modernization that would lead to Islamisation, and Islamisation that would lead to modernization. as for westernization, I consider it a failed experiment, that led to nothing but loss and regret. I had enough of westernization. lets try something new. lets try modernization versus westernization even if it is going to lead to Islamisation and see where is it going to lead us to.
