There is a point where continual declaration of hate, fear, hate, fear of others extremism starts to reflect a persons own position of extremism, as I have seen on many Burma-related sites, including this page. Thats unfortunate and dangerous. Far better and more useful to a cause to remain moderate. The Dalai Lama says as much. No situation is ever absolutely black and white. There is a complex prism of variables creating disharmony and suffering for so many on ALL sides of Burmas communal strife. Rather than fanning flames of disparity, religion, race and paranoia, wouldnt it be preferable to try to promote peace, harmony and mutual understanding? Hate only begets hate, with the result of entrenching further deeply held animosities. There has to be, at some point, a willingness to address issues peacefully, pragmatically and without violence. This is always possible, but requires courage and vision from leaders on all sides, who are prepared to abandon extremist elements.
