Theres much to be said about self-esteem. The value we see in ourselves can affect a lot of things in life. Oftentimes we do not seek to confront the insecurities in our life. We mask them with designer clothes, nice makeup, awards, titles, a false social media image, etc. I know the heaviness of being insecure. Ive felt it for years. Its a place where you try to hide those areas youre most vulnerable because being attacked again would literally crush you. You can buy new clothes, an expensive car, a new house, get in a new relationship, etc., but if you dont deal with the insecurities of your heart youre only masking the problem. The new stuff doesnt change the old you; only Christ can. Being content means Ive found a standard worth relying on and my faith is secure in Him. Placing esteem in self will always leave you deficient in some area. Place your esteem in Christ and remain focused on Him. Dont allow our plastic society to give you an image that is different from Him. You are not the things you have acquired, the stuff you wear, the titles youve given yourself or earned, etc. In fact, youre worth dying for! Stay focused.
