On December 3, 1964, Malcolm X participated in a debate at the world’s most famous forum for such activity, the Oxford Union at Oxford University in London, England. (See link below) youtu.be/ECiYHd_T7mQ His participation in this legendary debate would come on the heels of his six month trip abroad, his most extensive trip abroad where his organizing and human rights diplomacy placed the Black Freedom Struggle in America in the same circle of the NonAligned Anti-Colonial Movement of that incredible period. A legendary debater, the endeared freedom fighter also recognized that he had become an important solidarity figure for social justice all over of the world. He was there in London to also provide solidarity with the local anti-racist struggle there that paralleled the Black freedom struggle here. Most incredibly about this milestone in this seminal freedom fighter’s history is that he was a man who went no further than the 8th grade in school before dropping out becoming in his own words “an extreme delinquent,” and he would later learn the art of debate while serving time as a convicted felon in a Massachusetts prison! It is considered one of the major high points in his life. For more information, please call 973 202 0745… youtu.be/qx75j2SjdVg
