They say today that the church in America is not undergoing any sort of persecution from the rest of the world compared to the church in places like china and Africa. And though I would agree to the fact that we dont have people coming into our churches and putting bullets in our heads, I will say that there is a verbal and psychological attack that has been going on forever. And it has led to a church that is to safe to really step out and do much. There is always something coming from somewhere and the church is blind to it. Or is it maybe that the persecuting community is to scared to step up and take on the people who actually will love them. They grew up in a church and either one bad experience, or lack of a good one, has left them feeling empty and let down. Therefore since their hearts were broken because everyone around them got it and they got left behind, they have gone on a tirade and feel like that is their way of proving themselves as better than us and above us. They claim they are atheist and then their life speaks to the fact that they hate the very god they dont believe in. So I would challenge the offensive community to put your money where your mouth is and come see what we are all about. Dont judge a book by its cover. Youve heard it since you were young. And we will absolutely be your place of refuge, and though we will not be able to answer all of your questions, we will make sure that the question of whether or not we actually love people as much as we say is answered. Come and see for yourself. To the church in America I say, dont turn your eyes in the opposite direction. You must get on your knees before the lord and seek that He would fill you with such a complete and overwhelming love for people that no matter what they look like, smell like, drive to church in, live in, or where they go, that you would greet them with a holy kiss as scripture calls us to do (1 Thessalonis 5:26). I can certainly speak for my own church in the fact that when we say we are about people, we certainly are. There is absolutely no denying it. So please, if youre stuck in the rut of well I like this person but not this one, lets do what we can to start changing some stuff.
