Third eye opinion of the J&K post poll alliance. They came out - TopicsExpress

Third eye opinion of the J&K post poll alliance. They came out in hordes to cast their ballot despite veiled threats from many quarters such as those who were previously in power but saw themselves losing the war this time. In one such case a contestant was caught pasting poll boycott posters on walls of his own constituency. The UJC, Hurriyat G, Hurriyat M, the stone pelters association and the disgruntled commoner became a minority by holding themselves back from the ballot. Now as the results are out and PDP is in a predicament of sorts, the question everyone is asking is can it or rather how dare it shake hands with its main contender the BJP? Well, isnt this exactly what the voters of J&K have asked PDP to do. That is to have a common minimum agenda in line with their manifesto and negotiate a conditional alliance, this is nothing less than a treaty between adversaries designed by the people. The stage has been set to initiate a dialog between a Kashmiri party and the Union to find a common ground and lay a foundation for the future of the state. PDP’s “Self Rule” and BJP’s “National debate” need to find a common ground as per the aspirations of the people of J&K. Isnt this a dialog that both sides talk of but never end up having. So what better time than now. It’s not like they can ignore each other, they have to deal with each other in the future. Hence it only makes sense to have an extensive dialog and try to reach an agreement. If they dont reach a consensus, so be it and abandon. A treaty once arrived at and respected by both parties will be a better option for the state as opposed to anything else on the table.
