This ISIS thing really gives me the red-ass. What’s the point of having a Ferrari if you just keep it in the garage? We in the U.S. have the biggest most badass military on the planet by far, we have go to battle in various theaters to defend the unarmed and persecuted peoples of all races and ethnicities, but suddenly we are ok with the outright slaughter of innocent people in Iraq? A place where our finest gave life and limb for another countries people? Who else does that? Not to mention that the people currently under siege are mostly Christians. But you don’t have to be a Christian at all to know that what’s happening is atrocious. Look no further for proof that our occupation of Iraq was morally justifiable, then what is happening as soon as we leave. War weariness you say? You don’t have to like the fact that America is the big dog on the block to know that it has an inherent responsibility, as a moral and just nation, to use its mighty hammer to strike fear into the hearts of not just our enemies, but the enemies of all peace loving people on earth. To not stand idly by while savages commit genocide. I for one would like to know that such evil has no sanctuary as long as we have anything to say about it. Which is why it bothers me that people are only just beginning to say something about it. So, they have my vote. Hell, I’d give the thumbs up to start dropping nukes if that’s what it takes. “yeah, easy for you to say safe in your home” You’re Goddamned right. You don’t need an army to bring a voice to the voiceless, but you do need an army to destroy their oppressor. And who destroys an oppressor better than us? Who on earth right now has more experience and capability to bring the fiery judgment to this army of barbarians? No wonder you can argue till blue in the face about whether or not Iraq was right or wrong, our presence there was sufficient to afford us the luxury of forgetfulness. Now, true evil is pounding its chest while our leaders say “the American people don’t want to get involved”. Who are these American people and why are they using our name? Are we, or are we not what we all want to believe we are; the good guys? I for one know that there are scores of Americans who volunteer in this army because they believe that we are the “good guys”. You can argue all you want that Iraq or Afghanistan has nothing to do with our “freedom” but the fact of the matter is that our military men and women will fight, whether it’s against a direct threat to the homeland or not because they believe it is right, otherwise they would not. And the reason is because in the hearts of our people is an inability to except the relentless persecution of the innocent and defenseless. And in my opinion, thank god it is so. So what better way to justify the blood and treasure invested in this place than to do whatever it takes to defend the few true friends we have there? To leave behind only the ashes of our enemies, lest we forever slip from the righteous perch our people died to place us upon.
