This Sunday Millard Collins- Missionary to Philippines will be speaking at Bellevue Foursquare Church. Check out his amazing Bio . . it is a weekend you do not want to miss. Millard was saved during the “Jesus Movement” of the early 1970’s on the Big Island of Hawaii at the age of 25. He met and married his wife Virginia there. She grew up as a missionary kid in the Philippines where her parents were Bible translators with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Millard and Virginia graduated from a two year discipleship school called Genesis, similar to YWAM, in Santa Rosa, California. Shortly after graduation from Genesis Millard and Virginia felt God wanted them to be Bible translators. They attended three semesters of linguistics and translation principles at Universities of Washington, Oklahoma, and Texas. Millard also attended Northwest University of the Assemblies of God in Kirkland, WA and received a B.A. in Biblical Studies. In 1982 Millard and Virginia went to the Philippines to translate the New Testament into one of the 160 languages in the Philippines called Mapun. In 2011 they completed the translation. They are now revising that translation and plan on publishing the Mapun New Testament along with Genesis in about two years. They have four children and nine grandchildren.
