This bit of NFL-related news isn’t going to get any national attention like a DUI or assault, but puts in perspective that the 29 players arrested this year are not the norm in a league that has approximately 2,200 players under contract. No, most are like New York Football Giants linebacker Mark Herzlich, the Boston College graduate from Berwyn who is a cancer survivor and a very good friend of fullback and Southern Columbia graduate Henry Hynoski. Without fanfare or publicity, he recently reached out and gave support to an athlete at a local high school who also beat cancer, which I learned from a friend of the family.
