This evening H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta, C.G.H, MPs from different constituencies in the republic, women leaders, members of the public and I had an interactive and informative forum dubbed ‘Kenya Yangu Sauti Yangu’ (Uliza Serikali) where members of the public were asking questions to the President concerning his agenda for the county. My policy is not to engage in endless political bickering but work with people who share our vision of a Machakos that is not only developed in the region but also one that has a stake in the globe as an investment hub-President Uhuru has shown commitment to help us achieve that. When I was seeking the seat of the Governor of Machakos County, I promised the electorate that every household will have clean tapped water by the end of my first term in office. My government is delivering on this promise. Currently, there are borehole rigs on the ground sinking hundreds of boreholes. The National Government has promised to pump Ksh.1.5b to help pipe this water. Soon, Machakos town and its environs will have adequate water as the national Government is constructing a huge dam next to Maruba Dam to supplement the supply of the commodity. It has also set aside Ksh.110m to supply Masinga Dam water to Masinga, Kangonde, Mwala, Yatta and their surroundings. On infrastructure, President Uhuru’s government will fully fund the construction of a dual carriageway on Mombasa Road from Athi River to Makutano turn-off and also fund half the cost of the 16km stretch to Machakos while my Government funds the rest. The national government will also tarmac Ol Donyo Sabuk - Tala Road (35km) and Daystar road. In line with my manifesto to empower the youth, women and the disabled, the youth of Machakos County are going to benefit from Ksh. 262m youth fund set aside for them.
