This has been a day of great thanksgiving...a day of many baby steps...as Alesia and I came back from getting some lunch we returned to Katies room, where we had left her sleeping with the caregiver, to find her....GONE!! We went looking for her nurse to find out where she was. Her Physical Therapist had come through and whisked her away to do some therapy. However to our wonderment her therapy was happening down the hall as we witnessed her just three days removed from her latest surgery, walking with her therapist and the caregiver in a special harness...we watched her go a longer distance than last week...crying/moaning through many steps as she used all her strength [and then some] to lift one foot and then the other to move another step on this journey of radical/reconstructive/redemptive and restorative healing of her spirit/soul and body. It was powerful watching what had been thought by some not to be possible. Praise God!! Todays events keep real the words that I so often whisper in her ear....JESUS HAS GOT THIS....as her Physicians Assistant on her floor whispered in my ear as we both watched this today...this makes you want to worship [as you can tell...hes believer]. Since this journey began back on March 25th, it can be truly said; Jesus has got this...There is a passage of scripture we have found ourselves sharing with Katie and it is found in Psalm 139; You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand on me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.... The passage goes on to speak about no matter where I go, there His presence is. No matter where we are in our pilgrimage of life, no matter the burden, the challenge, the trial/the test....He is there, besieging us, surrounding us like an army besieging a walled city of old...He is after us/pursuing us....He is before us, behind us, above us, around us...we are in the depths of the palm of His hand...He is our Alpha & Omega...our beginning & our ending...our first and our last...He is most assuredly our future....and His blood most definitely has our past. No matter if its for Katie, you....or me....Hes got this....whatever this may be. His love is strong and it is relentless. Share this far and wide with those that will believe, rejoice and receive.
