This is a long one .. Worth the read.. Thinking this is my 2015 motto for life.. I dont wish to be negative or macabre But people that I love beyond measure will leave me in this life. They will depart and I will unfortunately will have to carry on without them. This reality sits in the future like a predator, waiting to rip away half my heart as it takes my family, my closest life friends, the very fragments of my soul. I am humbled before the Spector of death, an all-possessing ruler I am powerless before. I hide in the dark cave of my cupped hands, crying for the someday departure of my own sweet kin. I accept Deaths presence as a counterpart to Life, but it is surgery with a dull knife and my shoulders hunch under the gray weight of it inevitability. What can I do but drink in each cherished being with great thirst and desperate hunger, not knowing when our last goodbye awaits. I am a small, scared, delicate animal and Death is my shadow... The sly shadow of us all but in the interim between a night and a day, a life and a death, I have the opportunity to live in the surprising luminescence of this knowledge. I can open the ever-present gift of bathing in the glow of family and friendship, in people and moments-lovingly, bravely, willingly .... Despite knowing where this ship carries us. While we wait, let us smile and connect our hearts. Let us speak the things too vulnerable to utter. Let us embrace the experience of each other with abandon, for we know not our next earthly moment. Let us love, and love and love. It is all we have along the one - way road we ramble toward the light.
