This is a video taken at church the evening after my first medical clinic in a poor barrio in the DR. People lined up for hours in the heat. Many were scared, desperate, sick, even dying, all just needing medical care. Some snuck in twice, some we were unable to get to. After the clinic we were invited to come to a service. These beautiful people came here clean, smiling, in their best clothes. They were not the desperate hungry people we had seen that day. They were grateful and blessed. This video is important to me because, although all you can see and hear is music and happy people, it was the moment I was changed. I was sobbing behind the camera, unable to describe or explain why, but I was different, and I was scared by it. In just under two months I get to go back and continue to piece together my puzzle.
