This is an older story but I am posting it again because I am still astounded by the remarks made by Wayne Pacelle, chief executive of the Humane Society of the U.S. Pacelle is not a huge supporter of this type of registry. Pacelle said that many people convicted of animal abuse are mentally ill. Pacelle thinks that shaming them with a public Internet profile is unlikely to affect their future behavior except perhaps to isolate them further from society and promote increased distrust of authority figures trying to help them. Hey Pacelle, you seem to be confused. You are supposed to be helping animals and advocating for them. Maybe you should switch jobs and go advocate for the mentally ill. You seem to want to help them more than you want to help animals. I also reposted it to remind everyone what an asshole Wayne Pacelle is! *TK*
