This is for the consumption of Public who may not be aware of crookedness of these two brothers namely Ch Shujat and Purvaiz Elahi of Gujrat. The electricity issue is linked to the meanness of our political leaders who are solely responsible for current power crises lingering on this nation for more than a decade now.. No big hydro power project was built after Tarbela Dam. I have at numerous occasion tried to explain the true picture. Power from fossil fuels mostly imported ,is not a solution because we cannot afford its production cost. There was a famous Indus Basin Treaty sponsored by World bank under a tripartite agreement when serious dispute arose between Pakistan and India and the countries were at the brink of a war. There was an agreement was signed under an international treaty. We were supposed to construct three major Hydro Power Dams namely Tarbela, Mangla and kalabgh Dam. Kalabgh dam had a priority over Tarbela but late Ayyub Khan wanted the dam first in his area, so Kalabagh was deferred and Tarbela Dam was started. Kalabagh was made disputed by NWFP political leaders dominated by Wali Khan and his sons due to error in marking of the flood level. So an hue and cry was made that Nowshera will be flooded. The matter was explained and it was agree by all that this happened due to a wrong marking by a marker who is like a labourer. After finalizing all arrangement , the clarification of the highest flood level, arrangement of funds by the sponsoring international agencies under Indus Basin Treaty ,WAPDA eventually took up Kalabagh Dam for construction after completion of Tarbela , in the days of late Zia ul Haq. However it was maligned by Gen Fazle Haq who had some personal dispute with Zia ul Haq. So the project was again doomed and many politicians of NWFP and Sind started lobbying against it for no reason (yes they did put some of their objection but these were false). So the project was doomed. All the initial infra structure comprising residential colonies, road net work and costly equipment , machinery and a huge Crane already brought to site was destroyed.You may be able to see some remnants of the colony built there. The Nation is suffering now from a great crisis. During Benazir regime the idea of Private Power Generation was adapted but it was known from the beginning it will be too costly as it was based on fossil fuel mostly imported. The nation at large had been sleeping , now you are to suffer maybe for years to come. This is the curse brought about by cursed politicians of NWFP and Sind and some so called biased technical Experts, one of them ex Secretary Irrigation Govt of Sind. Our present day problems including price hike, disturbed life etc etc all emerge from high cost of power that has its effect on prices of goods produced, textile Industry and the inability of the even the well todo people to bear its cost. I am retired person and paid a bill of Rs 18000/- this month. Yes I am a Culprit of running One ACE in the Bed room shared by 4 persons. I forgot to mention to name of two Gujratis, Mr Purvaiz Elahi and Shujat the rogue politicians of Gujrat specifically who are now playing another dirty political game. They were also responsible because they influenced Mussharaf who was really keen to start the project. These two Gujratis are now playing another Dirty Game with Tahir ul Qadri the self proclaimed Wali. Let the Nation and common man know that who are politicians that are responsible for the power crises that would not be solved in years to come, because no major Hydro Power Project would come in line in this period.
