This is from ESPN NY BROOKLYN 4, LOWELL 3: Jared King doubled twice, including a shot that produced the go-ahead run in the eighth. Cyclones starter John Gant did not surrender a hit until the sixth inning, on a seeing-eye single that just made it by second baseman LJ Mazzilli. Lowell nonetheless posted a run in the first inning. Gant walked leadoff man Tzu-Wei Lin, who then attempted to steal second. Catcher Colton Plaia’s throw short-hopped Mazzilli and caromed into shallow right-center, advancing Lin to third. Manuel Margot then produced a sac fly. An inning later, poor defense contributed to another Spinners run. Reed Gragnani walked and stole second base. Later in the inning, Gant threw a pitch in the dirt that was smothered by Plaia. Gragnani strayed too far from third and Plaia tried to pick him off. The throw went into left field, scoring Gragnani for a 2-0 lead. Brooklyn responded in the bottom half. King doubled and moved to third on a single by Matt Oberste, which snapped an 0-for-16 slump. Plaia then atoned for his two errors with an RBI double. James Roche then produced the third double of the inning, scoring Oberste and Plaia for a 3-2 Cyclones lead. Lowell tied the score in the eighth. But Patrick Biondi led off the bottom half with a walk and moved to second on a sac bunt by Juan Gamboa. After Mazzilli struck out, King hit a soft liner into left-center that caused the center fielder Margot and right fielder Aaron King to collide.
