This is from my Michael Jackson persona called Song Bird and to inform you I am a upcoming striving lyricist and this song I wrote last Monday is getting a huge positive response and I thought I would share it with you guys as well since youre about changing the world and making it a better place for all. So I am hoping my lyrics will aspire and inspire the world. So I hope youll all enjoy it and please share any feedback thanks guys Another Dark Day (Remaster Version) By Song Bird (Hook): So when are we gonna be choosing To stop emptying our rounds And stop shooting To put our guns down And stop excluding everyone And start including love Because the more we be recruiting The more we can say we’ve had enough Of seeing our loved ones dying so young (Chorus): Another dark day, another lost child Another heartache, another lost smile, another heartbreak So when are we gonna learn from our mistakes? Show concern and do what it takes? To not regress and get deranged But to address and rearrange Make progress and make a change (Verse 1): Because look at this: 26 and 20 being kids Undeservingly murdered at Sandy Hook While the N.R.A. and the congress makes their money’s worth And get away, when they should be labeled as crooks But all we do is postpone it, look away and condone it As they get away with leaving our world shook to their conquest While we let matters go unaddressed as hundreds are dead And pretend nothing has happened until the next disaster hits Than we can act out all grotesquely and protest it But at the end of the day we both know we still chose this As the N.R.A. and the congress, they won’t admit it Or atone for it or take any ownership and own it They’ll just let another defenseless victim Die in their prime so young in a senseless crime And with all our wisdom we still can’t get to the bottom We still depict guns to be the problem When it’s not the bullets themselves that sic them And pick them out to be their next victims It’s the ones who are devoted to making a profit Sold it to the ones who saw fit to putcha in ya coffin (Chorus): Another dark day, another lost child Another heartache, another lost smile, another heartbreak So when are we gonna learn from our mistakes? Show concern and do what it takes? To not regress and get deranged But to address and rearrange Make progress and make a change (Hook): So when are we gonna be choosing To stop emptying our rounds And stop shooting To put our guns down And stop excluding everyone And start including love Because the more we be recruiting The more we can say we’ve had enough Of seeing our loved ones dying so young (Verse 2): Because how many mothers, how many fathers Gotta bury their sons, their daughters How many lives gotta end by the gun? How much bloodshed must be bled? Before someone decides to intervene And says enough is enough Of us seeing our loved ones dying But we can’t seem to find, Or we’re daunted by, the solution Because there are those who are choosing To hide behind their constitution Their right to bear arms than save a life Oh where is their conscience? Because their precious guns Are bringing us nothing but harm So when are ya gonna receive our message That we don’t wanna bury any more Of our precious young, our loved ones (Chorus): Another dark day, another lost child Another heartache, another lost smile, another heartbreak So when are we gonna learn from our mistakes? Show concern and do what it takes? To not regress and get deranged But to address and rearrange Make progress and make a change
