This is going to be long but please read... I tend to be more confident with the forecasts of Japan Meteorological Agency compared to PAG-ASA because theirs is more consistent when #YolandaPH came last year. Based on their forecast issued 8:50pm today, December 3, 2014, #Hagupit (#RubyPH starting tomorrow) will make landfall on Saturday morning in So. Leyte first, then Central Cebu (yes Cebu City) with winds of up to 165 kph and gusts of up to 240 kph. See here (jma.go.jp/en/typh/14225c.html) Southern Leyte is prone to landslides. Cebu City is the hub in the Visayas, if you cripple Cebu, you cut-off a major artery in the supply chain. This is going to be a bad scenario!! Lets hope for the best and prepare for the worst. #padayon and #bangon teams lets keep our lines open for any possible relief efforts in the coming days. Lets keep ourselves updated with the news as the forecasts could change from time to time. In the meanwhile, lets prepare for the worst. 1. Stackup on food, water, medicines, candles, batteries, first aid supplies and other consumables (good for at least 2 weeks). For food - canned goods is ideal considering we might not have electricity for a few days. 2. Might be good to full-tank your vehicles tomorrow, Friday the latest. 3. Remember the rechargeable flashlights weve been using after #YolandaPH, might be good to look for it in the drawer and charge it already. And those battery banks too! 4. Make withdrawals early as banks could not be of service. 5. Check your house if it needs repair, check your drainage system that its not clogged up. 6. If youre in a flood prone area, transfer all your appliances to an elevated place. 7. Have a battery operated transistor radio ready. Those smart phones are useless when its battery-drained and when phone signals are down. 8. If you are a farmer, and there is 90% chance of landfall in your area already, harvest your crops that can be yielded. 9. If government is enforcing evacuation in your area, please do so. Lets pray that tomorrow we wake up to good news... that #Hagupit veered away.. Goodnight everyone and stay safe. PS. I can only tag 20 people. Way luoran ha.
