This is my first rant of the new year. We went out to have a nice dinner at our favorite Japanese Steak House for our 49th wedding anniversary and decided to sit at the grill this time again even though it is old hat now. We were the first couple seated. Eventually three young couples were seated with us. Sue made an attempt to speak to the first couple but got no response. As soon as they were seated all six of them got on their phones and pretty much stayed there all evening including two actual phone conversations. Two of the young men wore their baseball caps while eating and one of them was on backwards. I can understand young couples not especially wanting to chat with a couple of old fogies but they never said one word to each other. They did not acknowledge the great job the chef did on the preparation of our food because they were too busy texting when he finished. He did a better than average job with his show. I DO NOT believe that gentlemen wear hats while in a building and absolutely not at a dinner table. At the end of the meal the couple seated next to the wall commenced to make out and it was time for us to leave. On our next visit we will definitely sit in a booth by ourselves and enjoy our meal in private. Rant over. I hope all of you have a wonderful new year and remember to mind your manners and make your Mama proud. That is all.
