This is to those who needs to know that there are different kinds of abuse. There is physical abuse, mental abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, and spiritual abuse. I know you are asking what is spiritual abuse is all about. Spiritual abuse is when one someone who profess to be a Christian uses GOD and HIS Word to keep you in control. One who acts and talks in a self- righteous manner and full of condemnations. One who acts different at home and in church. One who can never admit doing or saying anything wrong and full of vanity and full of critical spirit regardless of what you say and do, one who makes you feel like you are never good enough and twist everything you say to deflect their own shortcomings or mistakes other than themselves. And last one does not want to support your calling and hinders you from fulfilling your own because of jealousy over how GOD uses you in a way that the other wish they could be use the same way. And seeing no way out you just quench the HOLY SPIRIT to a point that your spirit man becomes grieve and you fall into heavy conviction because you are not doing what you were called to do. When two people are both serving the LORD in the same capacity and only one is supporting his/her ministry there is bound to be a conflict specially when the other is praised on his/her Preachings or Teachings, and even make fun of in a joking manner the other in front of the class after awhile this kind of jokes gets old and is given a sharp look when ask to fill in for someone elses class instead of him/her. So the other will graciously decline and give it up to the other half to avoid senseless arguments after. I call this kind of abuse as being a Spiritual hostage. And it is not the will of GOD to misuse and abuse HIS Words for his/her own gain or satisfaction. And it is not okay for him/her to make a mistake or do certain things that is not right and make it okay. GOD is a forgiving GOD but when we do something that is contrary to HIS Word to justify what we do is a clear sin of disobedience, plain and simple. A mockery of what he/ she stands for and represent. A Christian home is suppose to be peaceful place to come home to and a sanctuary from all the chaos around you, from all the the deaths of members, visiting sick people in the hospitals and listening to church members problems and complaints, it should not feel like you are already down under or wish you are somewhere else instead of in your house and not a home. A house is a building where you reside with your family while a home is your sanctuary where you find peace, joy with your children, and happiness with you spouse. It is a place where you look forward in coming home to and not the other way around. So please next time around do a self check of ourselves and face the mirror before judging and condemning your spouse because a marriage does not breakdown unless there is already a crack to it. And fixing it takes two for both walk down that isles one special day to say I do and promised to love cherish, respect, honor and love each other till death separate us from one another. Show less 1
