This makes a lot of sense to me. I knew something was different from my Big Girls birth: she was born with a bleeding scar under her chin and blood under her fingernails from picking at herself, or stimming, in utero. There were (many) other red flags within the first 6 months of her life. I wonder how many kids whose parents only saw symptoms at 2 or 3 years old were first-borns? Children of parents who hadnt had much experience in looking for milestones or developmental delays or differences. Any ASD parents care to comment or discuss? npr.org/blogs/health/2014/03/26/294446735/brain-changes-suggest-autism-starts-in-the-womb
