This makes me so ANGRY!! I was prescribed an SSRI in pregnancy because of a severe perinatal mood disorder and I demanded research but there was very little available. I was faced with taking it and adhering to other treatment protocols or possible confinement. Against my doctors advise, I took only 1/4 of the dosage prescribed and that turned out to be ENOUGH for me. I also signed a waver of liability against my doctor so I could continue talk therapy twice a week but come off my meds at 24 weeks gestation (there was no reliable research on breastfeeding and the SSRI I was on).
