This morning I stumbled upon a statement made by the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on DailyPosts website on how 80% of the recipients of Boko Haram attacks are Christians and I was immediately stunned at how he managed to arrive at such a stunning percentage. I immediately became mathematical and appeased myself with a little surfing of the web and came across an article on wikipedia titled Timeline of Boko Haram Attacks In Nigeria with records of 68 attacks carried out since 2010. Although, this article may not contain all known attacks it would suffice for the point I want to make. With intention to do this in all fairness to CAN I resolved to estimate from this article that all casualties recorded in attacks on Churches and on Christmas days are ALL Christians. From the maths, there were 267 Christians death out of a total of 1908 deaths which is only 14% of the net death while a calculation of the percentage of ONLY four out of the remaining over 50 attacks on Muslims; Bama on 7 March 2013 (55 casualties), Bama on 19 February 2014 (60 casualties), Buni Yadi on 25 February 2014 (59 casualties) and in Maiduguri on 1 March 2014 (51); gives 12% ! Almost the same as all the 10 attacks I estimated as attacks on Christians despite leaving out inculcating the casualties recorded in the remaining 46 attacks on Muslims !!! I acknowledge that Boko Haram is a national dilemma on both Christians and Muslims alike it is completely hypocritical of CANs president to resort to blatant lies as a way of presenting Christians as the sole recipient of these evil catastrophe. Believe me, Oritsejafor was a big bigot worthy of a weighty golden medal in gross bigotry.... Baruwa Damilola Moshood
