This morning is the worst of all mornings to get ready for work. She would like to call in sick but the HR always makea a fuss about sick leaves. She does not even claim her medical receipts even though entitled to it. HR just sucks as far as she is concerned. This is one HR she had ever worked with that does not help to cover staffs welfare but just made it worst over time. How many colleagues had left cause of HR? Too many to count and yet she is still there. Bija! She closed her eyes. If the one at home could froze her, the one at work will startled her. Kyle stared at her face as he got closer. She knows he is staring at her face as it is so obvious it will definitely attract attention. The blue and black on her cheeks, the bridge of her nose that is swollen, too hurtful to touch even though two days had passed. Two days that made it more hurtful. As she combed her hair this morning, she tried to cover it but people may think she is like that Ju-On. Alas, she tied it all up tightly to the back, like a shell and thought, heck, she will wing it. Who cares how she looks like as long as her work is done. Afterall, there could be so many reasons for these bruises, fell down the stairs, fell down on the pavement, hurt in taekwondo although she doesnt even know a move at all. What happened? Kyle asked again. How could she just remained quiet? Something must have happened. And she is still smiling! Causing his temper to rise and Kyle, he rarely lose his temper with a girl like her. I fell down. Down where? He asked. At home. Few days back. Yeah? He asked in disbelief. Who could injure themselves so bad as such at home? But it is Bija, she will not talk about it if she doesnt want too. Saw the doctor yet? She shook her head and that made him mutter curses to himself. Such an irresponsible to her ownself. He wants to touch that face but he did not. The last time he accidentally touched her hands and she rants about how one should not touch a Muslim girl if not related. Bija can be weird at times. He could never figure if she is religious or just plain weird. She does not wear the headscarf like the other ladies afterall. Is that not what Muslims should do? Cover up? Come with me. It is a command rather than an order. He never asked about her family, her background, her life, he just knew her as this colleague at work that he could be good friends with and will never ask him anything about the boss.
