This past year has been both busy and special.Special because we did not have any fatalities or serious injuries on any of our beaches or coves.the crew performed the usual safety patrols during another very good summer with only a small number of incidents.the lifeguard arm of the organisation recieved a great honour early in the year when the rlss presented us with three national trophies.later in the year four of our crew were presented with long service awards in Dublin Castle by Irish Water Safety.the usual mundane training and upskilling went on behind the scene as normal.the deaths of two former members late in the year the irrepressible Mary Galvin a founder member who worked tirelessly for us over a long number of years and in the last couple days Darren Coleman who came through the lifeguard club as a youth.his dad Willy gave great service to the lifeboat .may they both rest easy.
