This poem is dedicated to all the strong women out there. Especially my strong black sisters. Cant you see it in their faces the laughter lines the worry lines and the expression that says I know what Im doing Cant you heart it in the voices the tears of yesterday the hopes of tomorrow and see the children laughing they know me they are my blood See these hands they are strong they hugged my children and they told them off too especially when they needed it cause I am their Mother, Nana, Aunty, Sister See these hands they have done many things They shaped a family they gave to the community all the love, honour and strength they could from the gentle strong spirit inside me Strong Women we see them all here they pass it down through the ages that heart and soul that is so unique because it was given to them long ago.
