This song came on the radio while I was on my way to work. Some of you may know it, but if you have never listened to it I highly suggest it. Although this song was released in 1975, and it is based on events that took place in the 60s, it is still very relevant today as it reflects on the significant racism in the criminal justice system. Rubin Hurricane Carter was a professional boxer who was wrongfully accused of a triple murder and was sentenced to prison for a crime he did not commit. This song covers everything from how he and his friends (also black) were pulled over simply because they were black, to his life in prison for a crime he never committed. Below I have a biography on Hurricane, so you can read more on his life and the injustice he faced. I have also put a link to the lyrics for all of those who are not used to Bob Dylans singing style lol. The song is a little long, but you will not be disappointed. Let me know what you think. :) biography/people/rubin-carter-9542248#early-life metrolyrics/hurricane-lyrics-bob-dylan.html
