This story is just too bizarre not to share.....so this morning Kerry and I set off for Fernbank with Jack, Patrick, Lansten, and Savannah. While we were there I set my phone down in the bathroom to deal with Savannah and it was stolen. It was my fault for being careless and I fully admit that. I kept checking with lost and found the whole time we were there, hoping someone had turned it in and I kept calling it, texting it, everything, pleading with someone to return it. Meanwhile Chad started tracing it. I had this feeling that it was someone from this huge school group that was there. Chad located it several times but there was no location precise enough to find it - it was random like Spring Street. Anyway, we headed home sans phone. When we got to Lavonia we stopped at Burger King to get the kids some dinner and while we were there I used the iPad to check my email and saw that one of the very recent your phone has been located messages gave an actual street address....which when I googled it was the Golden Corral in Anderson! So I called and spoke to the manager and asked if a tour bus was there and I actually remembered that the group was wearing blue shirts.....it was them. I asked to speak to a leader in the group and was put in touch with a teacher.....well, to end this long narrative, we threw the kids back in the car, flew to Anderson, and I got my phone back and the kids got a fabulous lesson on why stealing never pays. Good times.
