This technique is called the kimura. It is an arm lock that attacks the shoulder. This is one of the most fundamental techniques in Jiu-Jitsu as well as one of the most effective and, if not released, destructive #submissions there is in all martial arts. The kimura can cause injury to three areas - the elbow joint, the shoulder joint, and the upper arm bone (humerus). The hold goes as far back as early iterations of Japanese #Judo. #MMA champions such as: #GSP, Mintauro Nogueira, and Jon Jones have used this technique to win fights. Come in and check us out to learn techniques like the #kimura and have fun getting fit at our #bjj academy.
