This the the season for giving..with Christmas only 72 day away its a good time to start gearing up for the holidays. In our economy many ppl cannot afford Christmas gifts. Many families cant pay bills nor provide food & other basic essential items. For many people the holidays are not a happy time. Many off those people live in our communities & we dont even realize it. There are homeless hungry people right in even our smallest of towns & you may not even realize it. They dont have smartphones nor computers some dont even have jobs. There are some who work but are struggling so badly with worry or how to survive from pay check to pay check but may be too proud to say outta fear. Ive noticed in Auburn especially if someone in need says they are in need people feel they can bully them. Call them thieves, drug addicts, scam artists or worse. These people are not those things but sadly someone somewhere spread a vicious lie (sadly sometimes they are half truths but still) & others believed it without asking nor finding facts. People do not realize how badly words can damage other peoples lives. These same people that start this lies do not care. Many are well liked members of our community that start these rumors so many people feel it must be true coming from them. These same people have a warm home & food 5 eat without worry while there words cause someone else to be homeless jobless & hungry. How is that fair? Sadly many of us are guilty of doing it without even realizing it even me but now we can try to realize our wrongs & try to help if we can. Its time to keep our mouths shut if we dont know all the facts & start helping to repair the damage done to others by giving back & helping those truely in need.. I know many of us who arent homeless/near homeless nor hungry feel the sting of our horrible economy & wont have great Christmases ourselves but still we can be thankful for all we do have..I was born & raised in the south(florida) & down south past the mason dixie line especially people tend to give more no matter how much or how little they may have themselves I was taught charity starts at home & its better to give than recieve. I taught my kids the same way. It should be that way everywhere. So I challenge everyone this month to find the people that are truly in need in our own communities. I challenge you to list their names & their information (their names their kids names & ages their address if they have one, etc. I will start a Secret Santa page so if you message me their info rather they list it on a public site & if you wanna join the secret Santa page please message me. The page will be closed only members can see the information. Anyhow if we find these people as a community maybe we can help & find outside organizations to donate & help also maybe we can make some peoples holiday alot more happy. Instead of adopting one holiday family maybe help a bunch at once on Christmas eve. ..If you cant or dont wanna help thats fine also but any negative comments will result in immediate removal from both pages. Its better to start early. If you wanna help but arent sure how I will set up a way to donate items & money starting November 1st 2014. I will have the Secret Santas of Southeast Nebraska group up & running in a few days. It will be a secret group only members can see. So if your interested in helping please comment below. Tia....
