This time of year always invites us to reflect and take stock of the year weve lived; the trials and tribulations and our triumphant victories. However hard the year has been remember that no man is beaten until his hope is annihilated, his confidence gone. As long as a man faces life hopefully, confidently, triumphantly, he is not a failure; he is not beaten until he turns his back on life. And it is in this vein, with hopeful and confident anticipation, that we ought to welcome the new year this evening. I can honestly say that I love life, whatever it throws as me, and as a calm sea never made a skilled sailor, I hope for my fair share of trials in 2015 enough to help shape me, but not enough to capsize the ship. This is what I wish for you all in 2015: To face life head on not focusing on what youve lost but on what youve gained, not what you have failed to accomplish, but on what you could potentially achieve because while the pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. Next year will be full of challenges but with hopeful and confident anticipation every difficulty you encounter will be your finest opportunity to succeed. Have a thrilling and adventurous 2015. You deserve it.
