This week, Congress is taking strong, bipartisan action to combat human trafficking across the country. Currently, victims of trafficking can be prosecuted the same as criminals. This is not right. Several of the bills taken up in the House would right this wrong and provide better services to support those who are sold into this modern-day form of slavery. These bills also help law enforcement crack down on the offenders who exploit vulnerable, young people in such a horrific way.
