This year the Texas State Board of Education will approve new science instructional materials and textbooks that will be used in Texas classrooms for the next decade. For years, an anti-science faction of the board has had a single goal: pressuring publishers to include information denigrating the science of evolution and climate change in Texas classrooms. The 2013 science textbook adoption will be the final word on whether their decade-long campaign will be successful, or whether sound science will be taught in Texas classrooms.
