Thoughts from Chief Sjolander... * The following conversation is real. The person Im texting back and forth with is real and I met them while speaking with Officer Mike at a college. Ive omitted a few names, but I do have the persons permission to use this. They are not from America, but they believe in the American dream and are proof that its alive and well. I know we have our problems here, but we can still be the land of opportunity for so many. They are taking all the proper steps to improve their life and the lives of their children, America is now their home. Im sending you the info about the supervisor I talked to face to face at ....... this is her information, the supervisor at ....... Tuesday and Wednesday was training 9am to 3pm and a 50 question test, today additional training and test. I got my uniform today as a security officer. I believe I still have more training. My supervisor said Im doing great and Im fast to learn things. After our two week of training then we will be put on the schedule to work independently. I believe I can do it. Our first two weeks of training we get paid...... an hour and after the two weeks we get our regular pay which is ....... an hour. I am really grateful that you helped me get a position as a security officer and I promise you I will do my best at work. I will continue to keep you posted. My regards to your family.
