󾁑Tip󾁑 There are lots of sources of dieting suggestions due to the large number of people who are overweight and trying to lose a little or a lot of weight. One suggestion commonly made to help dieters is to keep a weight loss journal where they write down everything they eat every day that they are on their diet. This has proven to be a helpful method for some people who don’t always realize the amount of food they are eating. Another type of weight loss journal that can be beneficial is one in which the dieter writes about everything except the food they eat. Let’s face it, women are emotional eaters. Nothing can soothe hurt feelings like ice cream straight out of the carton or that box of tasty chocolates. A bad day at work can cause a trip through the drive-thru to buy a giant burger and supersized fries. Only food can console us when we are distressed and this is one of the issues that is most difficult to handle when you are trying to diet. Even the diet itself can make you want to eat junk food! A journal is a place to keep track of your feelings and to let your emotions escape. Writing is a private place to say what you really feel and not sugar coat anything! You can call your boss every name that you have thought since you started working for him and tell your best friend what you really think of her boyfriend. Your emotions are as much a part of you as your face or voice. They won’t take a back seat to anything or anyone and the only way to keep them from sabotaging your diet is to unleash them in a place where they can do no harm.
