Tipp City woman accused of stealing $20,000 from employer TIPP CITY, Oh., --- (December 31, 2014) A Tipp City woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday, Dec. 30, to a felony theft indictment in the alleged theft of approximately $20,000 from her former employer. Joyl Colby, 39, is accused of stealing from SK Mold in Tipp City between February 2013 and Sept. 20. She was released on her own recognizance during arraignment in Miami County Common Pleas Court. Tipp City police report SK Mold leaders contacted them in October regarding an alleged theft of company funds. Colby, who had recently been terminated from her job, worked as company human resources manager and accounting generalist, police said in a report. Colby is accused of writing around $5,000 worth of checks to herself on a company account and then changing the recipient name on company files. She also is accused of using a company credit card to buy up to $15,000 in items for herself, according to police reports. A pretrial hearing for Colby was scheduled for Jan.12.
