To Those Who Lie Deeper This is for those who lie deeper. Those who have truly loved someone with all of their soul. Let me tell you a story… There she was in all her glory. Weird & wonderful, breathtakingly beautiful in her unique, quirky way. I understood her. I got her & then I got her. Felt privileged to breathe the same air. Felt bereft in the absence of her presence. Felt scary & new & fresh & just right. Broke out of the closet & stepped into the light. Now picturing you lying, effervescent in shroud, Makes me angry & proud & yet scared of the crowd. It’s like we’re a secret & so I can’t grieve. For you were my life & they cannot conceive. Just how much we loved & how much I have lost. One moment of madness & how much it cost. We wanted to live & love & just be. I loved you & lost you & now I can’t sleep. I loved you & lost you & I yearn for your touch. Can’t cope with the nightmares I need you so much. I loved you from the start to the bittersweet end. Which ended your life when we hit that bend. I’m sorry, so sorry, I’ve crumbled inside. With the slide & the lies & where’s & the why’s. It’s all my fault & it was all my idea. Thought running away would be perfectly clear. We’d be together forever to the end. Never saw it coming right at us up close round that bend. I’ll never forget you, not all that we had. I’m aching for you, going silently mad. I miss you so badly, it’s hard to confess. When I saw you that fateful day wearing that dress… You looked so beautiful, perfect as can be… & now you’re lying, lying deeper than me.
