To all of my Family and Friends and Facebook Family and Friends (Marlene and I are making a simultaneous posting), Marlene and I have made a decision, a small but life altering one: We have decided to take a High Tech step backwards and eliminate Facebook from our lives, thus freeing up some valuable time... for us. We are asking anyone who would like to continue to stay in touch with us over the Net to please send an email to us to insure that we have your email address. Additionally I would like it very much if you would follow me on my blog which is: rotsapkcir.wordpress (see below). It would be awesome if you would follow me on it. You could keep up with me this way and know what might be going on in our lives (or our head!). I have too emails, one is through the church ([email protected]) and the other is my personal email (revrawilliams@hotmail). Of course, if you already have my phone number (do we still use those? We shall see!) then you can always call me. Here is what you do... (1) You pick up the handle of the telephone (that big black thingy attached to the wall) off of its hook 2) Listen for the dial tone 3) You put your index finger in the hole that corresponds to the correct number or letter 4) Rotate the dial all the way around till it stops, then let go. Do this for each number/letter 5) When you have done this for each number you will then hear a funny sound going off and on again and again. This means that the phone on my end is ringing (or singing... whatever) 6) Wait for me to pick-up 7) Talk. That is it! There is one other way for us to communicate, but this is pretty tough now-a-days. You could get together with me and we could talk over a cup of coffee! Wouldnt that be retro of us! Anyway, I will re-post this every day for a week (until the 16th) then FB goes away. Hope to hear from you by email. If you REALLY want to freak me out you could get one of those pen things and write me a letter for the cost of one 5 cent stamp! (Boy am I old!). Do yourself a favor. Dont sit down and add up all of the hours that you spend on FB each year, or you will be doing this too! (... wow... vegetarian and now this. Whats next????) Rick
