To all of the EXTREMELY SPECIAL & TOTALLY AWESOME NICU NURSES!!! Happy Neonatal Nurses Week!!! We owe everything to you. For your gentle touch and compassionate care! For taking care of our precious miracle every single second of every single day, for 101 days!!! For taking care of Jaylee with all of the machines, wires, tubing, & cords. For taking the extra time to make sure she was cradled, cozy, and secure in her Z-Flow bed before closing the incubator doors. For doing thousands of tasks during one shift to keep our baby healthy and safe. For washing your hands a hundred times a day to keep our angel healthy and infection free. For feeding her my milk when I couldnt be there to give it to her. For giving her, her first bath. For providing her mouth/lip care. For all of those heart rate and oxygen drops that required stimulation, it was you that was there with in seconds to remind her she had to breath to survive....sometimes she didnt require much stimulation and others she required so much while turning a dusky shade of grey that it made our hearts drop and took our breath away, but without fail...each and every time....you worked your magic and she was with us again...healthy and pink. For all of the lab draws, PICC Lines, IVs, NG Tubes, straight caths, temperatures, diaper changes, incubator temp adjustments, answering my evening phone call EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT to tell me how much she weighed today and that she was ok :) For all of the many many ounces of my breast milk you fortified. For all the bags of fluid you hung for her. For all of your help to make Kangaroo Care happen so smoothly and compassionately. For lowering her incubator when I was still to weak to stand up so I could see her for the first time (more than 24hrs after her birth) For all of the times you knew something was wrong before she showed any major signs. For all of the hand/foot prints and accomplishment signs you made. For asking us if we were ok. For keeping us well informed of what was going on with Jaylee and her plan of care. For the pregnant labor & delivery/NICU nurse that took care of me the day I crashed, prepped me for emergency surgery, and cried with me the day she came in to give me my discharge papers to go home after admitting that she wasnt sure on that scary day if Jaylee and I were going to pull through. For offering to take pictures of us (mommy & daddy) together with Jaylee since only 2 were allowed in the NICU at one time. Most of all...for kindly and compassionately taking care of our family, while being away from yours. There will never be enough words to thank each and every one of you. I know I have forgotten a million things, but with deepest love and appreciation, THANK YOU from our family to yours. If any of you that took care of our Jaylee Bean actually see this...please be sure to pass it on. There are only a few of you (the most amazingly awesomest few of you) in these pics, but there were so many involved in saving Jaylee. You know who you are...Thank You ♡
