To carbohydrate or not to carbohydrate. Hey people one of the most important choices to make in your weight loss journery is to choose the right type of carbohydrate to eat. A carbohydrate is made up of glucose molecules. Glucose is sugar. Our body needs to use this as energy for our cells. The short story- If there is a surplus of glucose - this will be converted to fat. For better energy and weight loss results -ALWAYS go for a complex carbohydrate. (The good guys) WHY? - because it will also contain good amounts of natural fiber. WHY? - because fiber helps slow down the release of glucose into the blood. This way you wont have those insulin or glucose levels spike after you eat. A few examples of complex carbohydrates are brown rice, cabbage, spinach, lettuce, raw sprouts, radishes, cauliflower, celery and kale. Get yourself a few or these complex carbs, chop, dice, slice or grate them 100% raw - add some good fat flaxseed oil to them and enjoy! My tip: Have a raw complex carbohydrate salad before you eat your main meal to help with better digestion. Stay away from refined, sugary and starchy carbohydrates (the bad guys) and increase your high protein foods with low starch complex carbohydrates. Weight loss is a gradual process - one day at a time. With the right nutrition you can get fantastic results - dont give up - you CAN do it!
